Exo (stylized as EXO; /ˌɛks ˈəʊ/ eks-oh; Korean: 엑소) is a South Korean-Chinese boy band produced by S.M. Entertainment. Formed in 2011 in Seoul, South Korea, Exo comprises twelve members separated into two subgroups, Exo-K and Exo-M, performing music inKorean and Mandarin, respectively. Their name was taken from exoplanet, a term referring to planets outside of the Solar System.
Exo made their official debut on April 8, 2012 with the release of their debut single, “Mama”. The single was a moderate success; Exo-M’s version topped mainland Chinese music charts after only one day of release, and Exo-K’s “Mama” music video reached to number seven on YouTube’s Global Chart. The group’s two albums, the 2012 debut EP Mama and the 2013 comeback studio albumXOXO, were major commercial successes, selling over a million units in total worldwide. The lead singles off XOXO, “Wolf” and “Growl”, were K-pop hits, landing first place trophies on music shows from all three of Korea’s major free-to-air broadcast stations. The latter also peaked at number three on Billboard’s Korea K-Pop Hot 100 chart.
The group received numerous “newcomer” awards in 2012, and has since won over ten awards since their debut in April 2012.
Hyun-jin Ryu (Hangul: 류현진; Hanja: 柳賢振; born March 25, 1987) is a South Korean left-handed starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball. In 2013, after spending seven seasons with the Hanwha Eagles of KBO, Ryu became the first player from the KBO to join a MLB team via the posting system. Ryu was also the first South Korean to serve as the starting pitcher of a Major League Baseball postseason game.
Bae Suzy (Hangul: 배수지; Hanja: 裵秀智; born October 10, 1994), commonly known by her stage name Suzy, is a South Korean idol singer,dancer, actress, model and MC. She is best known for her roles as Go Hye-mi in the KBS2 TV series’ Dream High, Jang Ma Ri in Big, young Yang Seo Yeon in the movie Architecture 101, and Dam Yeo Wool in the MBC TV series’ Gu Family Book. She is a member of the Korean girl group miss A, which debuted under JYP Entertainment alongside with AQ Entertainment in 2010.
Kim Hyun-Soo (Hangul: 김현수) is a Korean name. It’s surname is Kim (Hangul: 김), and the given name is Hyun-Soo (Hangul: 현수). It has usually used as an unisex name. It also spelled Kim Hyun-Su or Kim Hyeon-Soo or Kim Hyeon-Su.
Lee Byung-Kyu (born October 25, 1974) is a South Korean baseball player who competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics and in the 2000 Summer Olympics.
He was a member of the South Korean team which finished eighth in the 1996 tournament.
Four years later he was part of the South Korean baseball team which won the bronze medal. He played as outfielder. Currently he plays for LG Twins.
Jeong Keun-Woo (Hangul: 정근우, Hanja: 鄭根宇) (born October 2, 1982 in Busan, South Korea) is a second baseman and shortstop who currently plays for the Hanwha Eagles in the Korea Baseball Organization. He bats and throws right-handed.
